Report

My internship focused on supporting IESD’s preparation and coordination of an annual international programme: 2015 Asia Pacific Leadership Programme on Environment for Sustainable Development (APLP 2015). The tasks of this internship include: designing Course Book and Logistical Info Booklet for APLP 2015; Coordinating poster exhibition, registration, photographing, recording and material printing; organizing volunteer group; supporting communication with participants and resource persons from governmental organizations, international organizations, NGOs and the private sector; assisting in logistics for events, such as workshops, lectures, tours and meetings.

As one short-intern member of the IESD Office team, I gained experience on coordinating international sustainable educational events, which widen my insights on sustainable development by communicating with international governors, NGOs and scholars as well. Learning from the preparation work and during hosting the programme, I understand what details should be paid attention to in order to make an effective and enjoyable conference, and what are dos and don’ts for a friendly participant who does not make difficulties for coordinators. Overall, I sincerely appreciate IESD and GPSS for supporting and providing me with this fruitful internship opportunity.
