Graduate Program in Sustainability Science accepts students for Master of Sustainability Science and Doctor of Sustainability Science.
Principally, there are two ways for admission to the Graduate Program in Sustainability Science (GPSS):
(1) International admission for international applicants (those without Japanese nationality) through screening of application materials, and
(2) Entrance examination held in August in Kashiwa, Japan.
Admission of international applicants (those without Japanese nationality) to GPSS is considered by examining application documents. Applicants from abroad are not required to come to Japan for this admission process.
Qualified applicants will be considered for scholarships, and there are also other possibilities to apply for scholarships through this program.
Details on the international admission is announced on this web page in autumn every year. For admission in October 2010, further information will be provided in November 2009.
This examination is held in August in Kashiwa, Japan. Anybody regardless of nationality can apply for admission through this process. All the applicants are required to come to Japan for taking this examination.
This examination consists of the screening process based on application materials including short essays, an English test (submission of TOEFL score sheet, a TOEFL-ITP exam, or both) and an oral examination.
"Guidelines for Applicants" is open to public in April every year.
GPSS accepts scholarship recipient(s) who have been recommended to MEXT by a local Embassy of Japan. Please inquire about the details at the Embassy of Japan in your country.
