Last updated February 07, 2018

GPSS-GLI organizes ISL (Interactive Seminar with Leaders) every year inviting renowned global leaders. On January 13, 2018, we invited Mr Soichiro Seki (former Vice-Minister of the Environment and currently the Preseident of Japan Industrial Waste Information Center) to have his lscture and facilitation of group discussion. Mr Seki gave lecture concerning the history of Environmental Policies in Japan especially focusing on the notorious environmental pollutions and climate change. In the latter half, Mr Seki facilitated the group discussion concerning the "Coal-Fired Power Plant Development in Japan". 12 PhD students are randomly devided into two groups to debate whether Japan should promote the development of coal-fired power plant. Regardless the limited time and information, students successfully built convincing logics to outspeak the other thanks to Mr Seki's advice and facilitation.
