GPSS Doctoral Student ZHENG Hao Receives the Outstanding Student Presentation Award at JpGU-AGU Joint Meeting 2026

ZHENG Hao, a doctoral student in the Graduate Program in Sustainability Science (GPSS), supervised by Associate Professor Runsen ZHANG, received the Outstanding Student Presentation Award at the JpGU-AGU Joint Meeting 2026.
The award was given for his presentation entitled “Linking Urban Shrinkage to Carbon Emissions in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area: A Machine Learning Approach with Scenario based Projection.”
His research examines the relationship between urban shrinkage and carbon emissions in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area using machine learning and scenario-based projections. The study aims to provide new insights into low-carbon urban planning in the context of future urban shrinkage.
